Learn more about the Rockwall EDC

RockwallJobs.com is operated by the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation (REDC), which is a non-profit local government corporation authorized under the Texas Development Corporation Act, and approved by the Rockwall voters in 1995. The REDC is funded through a ½ cent sales tax on any taxable good or service purchased within the City of Rockwall. The seven-member volunteer Board of Directors is comprised of residents of the City of Rockwall, who are appointed by the Rockwall City Council.

The REDC has a vision statement of “Rockwall as the premier destination for high-quality business, talent, and investment in the DFW region.” Our Mission Statement is, “To retain, grow, and attract new business investment to ensure a sustainable and diversified tax base for Rockwall.”

Our Origins

RockwallJobs.com was founded in 2017, primarily as a domain to publicize and register participants in the annual Rockwall Job Fair. The REDC hosted the Rockwall Job Fair as an effort to support primary employers within the City of Rockwall - those businesses (like manufacturers, as an example) that sell a product or service on a statewide, regional, national, or international basis. Our goal was to provide an opportunity for those employers to meet with members of the community and surrounding region that were looking for employment opportunities. Although Rockwalljobs.com received heavy traffic around the time of the job fair, REDC staff thought it would be good idea to provide a collection of links to the career pages for Rockwall businesses that could be accessible year-round.

Growth and Expansion

In 2023, after six years of the Rockwall Job Fair, the REDC decided to move away from one centralized job fair, instead opting to support individual companies host their own job fairs. However, rather than closing the site, we opted to grow Rockwalljobs.com by inviting all employers in Rockwall County with a career page – including non-primary employers – to join the job board. We also began promoting any employer within Rockwall County that is hosting a job fair. Finally, we grew our advertising efforts on the site – at first purchasing space on digital billboards along Interstate 30, and later, through various online marketing avenues.

Our Commitment to Rockwall County

Today, Rockwalljobs.com is flourishing as we are frequently adding new employers, while having thousands of job-seekers visit our website monthly. But we are not done! Our goal is to become the one-stop shop for all jobs in Rockwall County, and we are frequently updating our site and analyzing our marketing channels in service of that goal.
